Church
& People,
the parish magazine of St. Mary's, is edited by the
Verger Mr John Weller and is distributed to around 700 people including
former Rectors, Curates, and parishioners, the Archbishop of York
and the Bishop of Hull. Every month copies arrive in places all over
Britain and even in Spain and Australia.

St.
Mary's Ringers
St. Mary's Ringers, under the direction of the Tower Captain, Mr
Ian Booth, meet each week to ring for services on Sunday and for
special services such as weddings. They meet in the belfry on Thursday
evenings.

Mary's Embroiderers
St. Mary's Embroiderers have been designing and creating fine vestments
and hangings for St. Mary's Church for many years and are always keen
to share inspiration with new members. |
Servers'
Guild
The Servers assist the clergy at services each week and are affiliated
to the Guild of the Servants of the Sanctuary, the national organisation
for those who are servers in Church. |

Flower
Guild
St. Mary's has a talented group of flower arrangers
who provide floral decoration for many occasions through the church's
year and also for special events such as weddings and festivals.

Mothers'
Union
St. Mary's has a branch of the Mothers' Union, an organisation
founded in 1896 by Mary Sumner. It exists to promote married life,
to encourage parents in the care of children, to maintain a fellowship
of Christian people united in prayer, to promote stable family life
and child protection, and to support those whose family life has met
with adversity. |

| SALT
or 'Share a Lunch Together' are a group who meet each
week in the Mark Kirby Hall simply to share a meal together. |

Forward
in Faith Group
A group who dissent from the Church of England's
decision to allow women to be ordained as priests, who continue
to campaign for provision for traditionalists. Meetings and special
Masses held throughout the year.
