How we celebrate the faith

The Eucharist

The Eucharist (sometimes called the Lord's Supper or the Mass) is a service at which the Sacrament of Holy Communion is celebrated. In it we gather as the body of Christ to obey the command of Jesus to "do this in remembrance of me" (Luke 22: 19-20). In memory of Jesus' last supper with his disciples we lay bread and wine on the altar and pray, as Jesus commanded, that by the power of the Holy Spirit they will be for us his body and blood.

Daily Prayer

Each day services of Morning and Evening Prayer are said (sung on Sundays) in St. Mary's where we ask God to prepare us for the beginning of the day or to give thanks for God's presence with us throughout the day when we reach its end.

The Rites of Passage

The Christian faith seeks importance at every point in people's lives, but none so much where events of significance happens. Many Baptisms, Weddings and Funerals are held in Church where we gather to celebrate a new life or a life that has ended and at times where people wish to commit a loving relationship to the care and greater glory of God.
